Most communities have some sort of holiday parade. And many times holiday parades feature decorated wagons. Any little red wagon will work. And many household items can be used for decorations. Here’s how to do it:
- Find out if your parade imposes any regulations on decorating. See if there’s a theme for the parade.
- Let your hobbies inspire you. Use a favorite holiday or season for example. Gather crepe paper, flowers, steamers and flags.
- Floats sized to fit over a wagon can be found at a craft store.
- Attach decorations to the wagon. Drape the sides with garlands, paper and balloons.
- Make signs for the sides of the wagon with inspirational quotes or messages.
- Add decorations to make the wheel look like a vehicle. Use a steering wheel and wheels for a car or created an old-fashioned covered wagon.
- Fill the wagon with stuffed animals or pots of flowers. Make sure stuffed animals are dressed appropriately for the theme.
