Double The Fun For Children & Adults!

Go-karting can be fun both for children and adults.  Pedal go karts offer both kids and adults the fun of racing around the block.  In addition, since they are pedal-powered, there’s no need for gasoline.  No gasoline means no harmful exhaust fumes.  Also, a good number of go-karts have broad tires, minimizing the risk of the kart careening out of control.

Pedal go karts come with ergonomic seats that fit a person’s body comfortably.  Most models even have horns and seat straps.  They come in a variety of sporty designs.  They are recommended for children as young as three years old onwards.  Pedal go karts are also very affordable.

Take A Ride On A Wagon

Every child knows of or has owned a Radio flyer wagon.  That signature fire-engine red with black wheels.  It’s been a childhood fixture ever since it came out.  My mother gave my brother a Radio flyer wagon when he turned 4.  He pulled that wagon around everywhere he went.  Sometimes he’d ask me to sit on the wagon so he could give me a ride.

It was often a bumpy ride.  Imagine how much more comfortable it would’ve been if we had a Radio flyer wagon seat.  It comes in the signature fire-engine red and fits easily onto the wagon.  The straps secure the seat to the underside of the wagon.  Made of durable molded plastic, the Radio flyer wagon seat is sure to be a hit with kids today.

Ah, The Simple Pleasures Of Childhood

As far as I still can remember, my childhood days were so simple.  The toys that I’ve played with aren’t as advanced as the toys available for kids these days. There wasn’t any complicated interactive computer games then. It’s all about outdoor and backyard games and plays are the popular things we do.  That is why kids during my time were more active.

Last Christmas, my wife and I decided to give our kids something to make them more active and enjoy more of playing in our backyard. And with that in mind, we decided to checkout our local bicycle shop to see what we can get them.  We were very surprised with what they are offering.  We both never realized that even the simple go carts, bikes and tricycles for kids have already evolved. They’re now being offered with all those advanced features such as adjustable chairs, countless accessories and equipped with different setting speeds. We had a great time  choosing and in the end we were able to get them these toys that will change the way the play, similar to what I as a kid have played before – but with plenty of extras of course.

Let Your Kids Have Fun Go-Carting

We know that our kids love the idea wherein they can drive, whatever form of vehicle it may be. So why not try making one that they can really enjoy?
Here are some easy and simple steps on how to build go cart for your kids:What you need:

-          Steel tubing: both round and square for the frame
-          Sets of 4 wheels: about 1 ft. diameter with ball bearing
-          One set sprockets and chain
-          Steering wheel, brakes and brake levers
-          Kiddy chair, pedals

What to do:

a.    Form a layout of your designed size.
b.    Bring the steel tubing to the steel cutting and welding shop.
c.     Once the frame is ready, connect each part together and attached the others components starting with the sets of 4 wheels with bearing and brakes.
d.     Attach next the one set sprockets and chain to the frame.
e.     As soon everything is attached, test all movable parts – the steering wheel, the wheels, the sprockets and chain – and adjust should it’s either tight or loose.
f.      If everything is perfect, attached the kiddy chair, the pedals and the other accessories you wish to add.
But if you don’t have the luxury of time to make your own go cart, you can easily get one with just a few mouse clicks. Comparing prices could be very convenient too.

Pedal car

Let your child exercise his feet and legs. Instead of buying him a toy car that runs on batteries or electricity, give him a pedal car that he can power using his own muscles. Pedal cars and trucks are great toys that will fire up an active child’s imagination. Let your child become an adventurer by allowing him to pedal his heart out.

For a kid who’s built for speed, have him tool around in classy racer pedal cars. These are inspired by Ferrari F2 racers and other Grand Prix type vehicles that became famous during the period of 1952-1957. You little boy is sure to cross the finish line in awesome style. Pedal racers are available in red, black and chrome colors.

Pedal Train

A lot of kids today are turning into TV zombies. Many parents make the mistake of making the TV a way to keep their kids quiet and cooperative. But then they are raising future couch potatoes.

It is important to keep kids active, because it is the best way to keep them healthy. Active kids have lower risks of developing diseases like Type 2 Diabetes. Instead of buying electronic toys that you plug into the TV. Invest in those that get them to move, such as a pedal train or a bicycle.

Firetruck pedal cars

Every kid dreams about being a hero. It is okay for them to look up to comics superheroes like superman or spider-man. But they should also know the value of regular every day heroes in the community like policemen or firefighters.

Aside from buying them comic books and caped costumes, it is also a good idea to buy them the things that regular heroes also use. You could also introduce them to the valiant people who risk their lives in the line of service by bringing them to places like fire stations. Choosing toys like firetruck pedal cars are also a good idea.

Tricycling Down Memory Lane

tricycleMy first tricycle was pale pink in color and had glittering streamers hanging from the handlebars. I have such great memories of riding that little bike! When my niece turned five last year I wanted to surprise her with the same sort of tricycle. I found on at the nearby toy store—and it was perfect. It was cherry-pink in color and had yellow stripes running down its sides.

I put the tricycle in a huge box and wrapped it with shiny silver paper. I bought a long, pink ribbon and stuck it right on the top. My niece was so excited when she saw the gift she screamed. Later, when it came time to open the presents she chose mine first and rapidly tore off the wrapping paper. She rode the tricycle around for the rest of the day. And now every time I visit she asks if I want a ride.

Most communities have some sort of holiday parade. And many times holiday parades feature decorated wagons. Any little red wagon will work. And many household items can be used for decorations. Here’s how to do it:

parade wagon
  1. Find out if your parade imposes any regulations on decorating. See if there’s a theme for the parade.
  2. Let your hobbies inspire you. Use a favorite holiday or season for example. Gather crepe paper, flowers, steamers and flags.
  3. Floats sized to fit over a wagon can be found at a craft store.
  4. Attach decorations to the wagon. Drape the sides with garlands, paper and balloons.
  5. Make signs for the sides of the wagon with inspirational quotes or messages.
  6. Add decorations to make the wheel look like a vehicle. Use a steering wheel and wheels for a car or created an old-fashioned covered wagon.
  7. Fill the wagon with stuffed animals or pots of flowers. Make sure stuffed animals are dressed appropriately for the theme.

Have Fun!
